Loving Jesus = Religion

So… has anybody seen this video that’s been going around, about hating religion but loving Jesus?  Yeah, I thought so… he’s approaching 11M hits, so it’s hard to avoid it.  I have to say, my first instinct was just to be appalled and write it off, and hope it went away.  It’s not like it’s a new sentiment, and I figured it would just come and go.  But over the last few days I’ve really been blessed by how many people have stepped up to respond, from all corners – Protestant, Orthodox, and Catholic – and if anything, this video has been a great catalyst for discussion and evangelism.  So bravo to Jefferson Bethke for getting the ball rolling – if perhaps not the way he intended!
